The Beauty Edit: Tan-Luxe Illuminating Self-Tanning Drops
For the past three years self-tanners have been one of my favourite additions to my beauty routine. But although self-tanning came with many upsides there was one major downside. My face NEVER matched my body. Now you may be asking “well can’t you just use the tan on your face?” The answer to that is yes. But here’s the catch, applying self tanner to my face constantly broke me out. And so for the longest while a relied on my makeup bronzer to do all the work. But unfortunately, for days where I wanted a makeup free look, I was out of luck and looking mildly crazy. After coming across the Tan-Luxe Illuminating Self-Tan Drops I decided to give them a try. This was my experience and final remarks.
The Tan-Luxe Illuminating Self-Tanning Drops (coming in two different shades, light/medium and medium/dark) works by transforming your everyday moisturizer, oil, or serum into a customizable self-tanner. By adding anywhere between 2 and 12 drops you are able to adjust the darkness to your liking.
The Cons:
So although this product is amazing, I wanted to cover some of the not so great features, because at the end of day those are the things that help us decide whether a product will work for us or not. The first major issue I have with this product is that it sticks to dry patches and can leave you with an uneven tan. I especially experienced this around my nose and chin. Using a thick layer of moisturizer before application helped this. The next issue I have had is an unevenness around the edges of my face. This often left me with a line that didn’t blend evenly down onto my neck. Although it is something that is easily fixed with makeup it was still a slight nuisance. After some time, and being extremely careful during application this was no longer a problem.
The Pros:
When it came to the pros of this product the fact it had no tanning scent was huge. Many people are turned off by the scent of self-tanners and this product smells like that of a moisturizer. Perfect for every day use. To add onto this, these drops did not break me out. Now considering that this was the very reason I didn’t use normal self-tanners on my face I am pleased to say that this did not negatively effect my face in anyway. Next, you only need the tinniest amount! So although this product is small, a little truly does go a long way. And lastly, these drops simply look beautiful. They do everything you need them to do. The last thing I love about these drops is that they fit seamlessly into any routine. Apply your moisturizer and the drops will develop on their own, no need to wash off the tan. In the end, they truly do give you that perfect summer glow.
