Three Ways To Wear a White Dress This Summer

For me there is nothing better than a white summer dress. Although we may not be going outside all that much this summer, no one says you can’t dress up for an excursion to your backyard or your daily stroll around the block. One of my current favourites has to be this off-the-shoulder dress. The exaggerated frill and pockets (yes I know, this dress officially has bragging rights) really makes this dress far more elevated. Not to mention, due to the large frill there is no need to wear a bra. (brownie points here). Although this particular H&M dress is no longer available, I wanted to stick with the theme of white dresses and share with you some of my favourite styles. Whether in quarantine or not, these timeless dresses will be perfect for summers to come.

The Tanning Dress

Admittedly, there are times when I want to sit in the sun without a bathing suit, but tanning extremely easily I have about a 10 minute window before tan lines start to develop on me. With that, when it comes to summer dresses a style I always ensure to have is something that is either strapless or off-the-shoulder. Tan lines are something I try to avoid and so having dresses that have no straps is something I love to go for. Although off-the-shoulder is not technically strapless, by simply slipping off the sleeves you have an instant strapless dress for those at home tanning days. Pair these with a simple sandal and you’re ready to go.

The Sunday BBQ Dress

Okay so in reality we probably won’t be going to too many social gatherings this summer but this style is by far my favourite and something that no matter the year can be reworn over and over again. There is something so timeless and effortless about a white dress that makes it so beautiful. When it comes to this style I always look to explore new fabrics and silhouettes. Whether it’s puff sleeves or eyelets, I am always left feeling ready for summer. I will almost always pair these dresses with my espadrilles, with their natural materials espadrilles dress down an outfit while still making it look beautiful.

The Poolside Dress

When it comes to the poolside or the beach I always go for dresses that are light and airy. Having light fabrics that will dry quickly if wet are key to a poolside dress. Heavy fabrics will only make you sweaty and if someone happens to give you a wet hug then your dress will take far longer to dry than something that is thinner and lighter. Although these are perfect for poolside days, these are also some of my favourite dresses to wear around the house. Comfortable and light for those hot summer days.

What are your favourite styles? What are you looking forward to wearing this summer?
