The Perfect Boot

Winter. The dreaded season in which fashion and all forms of the word go out the window. For anyone who has ever experienced it, you know that it is a time for humongous parkas, slushy roads, and the dreaded winter boot. Ever since I can remember I dreaded the moment in which I would have to set side my loafers and cute sneakers for a clunky outfit-disrupting boot. I think I was in denial about winter for a very long time. It wasn’t until I gave in and accepted the fact that I had to get a pair boots (for the sake of my feet) that I found  the perfect winter boot.

Hunter has always been a brand that I was aware of but simply disregarded as outdoorsy. Unfortunately, my idea of the outdoors is a rare hike on a trail comparable to a paved sidewalk. Despite that, Hunter boots have always intrigued me. The colour variety and the knee-high fit always appealed to me. However, the clunky heel and rough structure of the Original Tall Rain Boot were something I never quite cared for. Not to mention, the only people I had ever seen wearing these were friends who had a deep love for everything outdoors, so I never saw them styled the way I would’ve liked them to be. It wasn’t until I came across the Original Refined Slim Hunter Boots that my winters changed.

I had finally found the perfect winter boot. Not only was it able to take on the snow and salt, but it was sleek, simple, and didn’t detract from what I was wearing at all. Whether I was heading to yoga class or heading to our favourite restaurant on date night, these boots made the perfect addition to my outfits.

Plus, I can wear them in the fall and spring. Talk about versatile.

A few years back when I considered the Hunter Boots I simply disregarded them and assumed they weren't able to take the cold Canadian winters. After all, they’re rain boots. Now, I have various colours, just to have different options. If you find your toes getting a little too cold, the Hunter inserts that “winterize” the boots are a great addition—personally, I’ve found a warm pair of socks does just the trick. Now, I find myself unable to stop talking about my love for these boots. Whether it’s with a parka or a blazer, these Hunter Boots are the perfect winter boot.
