The Three Pieces You Need in Your Wardrobe

IMG_9300.jpg

Admittedly, there are a few pieces in my wardrobe that naturally get more wear than others. Even with the excitement of new additions to my wardrobe I find myself constantly reverting to these three simple pieces. Not only do I know I’ll always feel good in them but I know that they can be worn all year long. So with that, I wanted to share with you the three pieces in my wardrobe that are an absolute must-have.

The Classic White Button-Down

As much as feeling put-together and confident is super important, feeling comfortable is just as important. With that, versatility and comfort are the two main reasons that I will always have a white button-down in my wardrobe. This Aritzia Utility Button-Up top has without a doubt been my absolutely favourite during self isolation. Not only is it loose fitting and comfortable but it pairs well with just about any bottoms. Jeans, skirts, shorts, you name it. Despite the fact that button-downs come in an array of colours, white is always the first colour I pickup solely because it is colour that I'll be able to wear time and time again and it’ll simply never go out of style. Here I’ve styled the Utility Button-Up with one of my favourite trousers. Although I love to tuck my shirts in, leaving it untucked is both more comfortable and it makes it just a tad more casual. Simply, my favourite wardrobe must have.

 The Black Trouser

I promise I won’t say how much I love trousers again but when it comes  to bottoms these club Monaco trousers truly have been my go-to for everything. Being a thousand times more comfortable than jeans, they make me feel like I’ve made an effort without having done much. A simple styling guideline I like to follow is to only wear one baggy item at a time. In other words, wearing a baggy top with baggy pants is something I try to avoid.  Although I am all for the straight leg trouser and the looser fitting styles that are currently in, I personally prefer a tapered and slim leg trouser. Because I often go for flowy tops (much like the one i’m wearing here) I prefer a pant or trouser that will define the rest of me. When it comes to styling them, these trousers are effortless you just can’t go wrong.

The Sneaker

Living in the city means that having comfortable shoes is a must. At times sneakers can be extremely casual and can often dress down an outfit just a little too much. Coming in various colours, these Aldo Jille Sneakers in black have been the perfect addition to so many of my outfits. Slip on sneakers have been my go-to for years now, not only are they extremely comfortable but they allow me to dress up an outfit if need be. And let’s be real, not having to tie our shoes is something we all need sometimes. Shoes are something we often overlook but it’s actually the first thing most people look at. Like they say, a pair of shoes can say a lot about a person. Nevertheless, these sneakers deserved a spot because they just never cease to impress. Not to mention, they are currently on sale.

The main reason these three pieces are a must have in my wardrobe is simply because they are extremely versatile and can be worn all year long. Although I love my trend pieces and colours, these are the pieces that not only get the most wear in my wardrobe but are the pieces I know I will feel amazing in no matter what.
